More About Me!

Back to the Beginning

My career started with Batman. Specifically "The Dark Knight" (2008) by Christopher Nolan. There was just something about Heath Ledger's (RIP) performance of the Joker, that at 16 years old, had me sitting in my hometown theater thinking "Holy Sh!t, I want to make those".  At the time, I was attending Cosmetology School concurrently with High School, and was able to start focusing on Hair Styling, Cutting, Chemical Services, Nail Services, and Beauty/Glam makeup. Then Halloween rolled around one year, and I discovered what Special Effects (SPFX) Makeup was. I was into it, to say the least. Fast forward to college and I needed to take a foreign language, as someone that works with her hands I thought "Well, I'll just talk with my hands". Very quickly, I fell in love with American Sign Language. It was during that time, I realized I had the ability to work with so many different individuals, and could create the opportunities to work with the community and create Media in/with ASL. After a few life events, I was able to rediscover my passion for SPFX Makeup while obtaining my Media Arts Degree by attending the University of North Texas. Within that time I learned consistency, networking and the very important job of producing multiple forms of Media (TV, Short Films, Podcasts, Radio, and Broadcast).

My Favorite Thing

Everything gets put into perspective when I am welcomed home by my blind boii Stevie Ray Milsap (the best), as well as my other cats Baby (who has an attitude), and Blue. I may have run out of hands to pet them all, but my heart can only grow bigger. What I enjoy the most at the end of the day, is knowing that I have done what I can to create a life and career that I want to be a part of.

Fall 2020Stevie Ray Milsap (now 5) and Baby (now 6).
